MIAX PEARL Equities - Post Mortem for trade date November 02, 2020
On Monday November 2, 2020, the MIAX PEARL Equities Exchange had an issue whereby quotes and trades for Tape A and Tape B symbols were not reported to the Securities Information Processor (SIP) at the time of the trade.
This problem resulted in the issuance of a Trading Halt at 11:32 am ET for the Tape A and Tape B symbols. Subsequently, the reporting issue was resolved and the trading resumed as of 12:40 pm ET.
All trade reports that were not reported up until the 11:32 am ET Trading Halt, were subsequently reported to the SIP after the market close with an Out of Sequence trade condition of ‘Z’.
The root cause of the issue has been identified and appropriate corrective steps implemented to avoid such occurrences in the future.
