MIAX Futures Onyx Upcoming System Enhancements - Support for End-of-Day Cancel Notifications for Expiring Orders

MIAX Futures will introduce support for End-of-Day Cancel Notifications for expiring Simple and Complex Day, Good 'til Cancel (GTC) and Good 'til Date (GTD) Orders over the FIX Order Interface (FOI), FIX Drop (FXD) and Futures Express Interface (FEI). These features are scheduled to be available in Production in August 2025. MIAX Futures will provide further details, including the anticipated launch date, in a future alert.

  1. Enhancement Details: After the Instruments transition to Closed for each Trading Day, End-of-Day Cancel Notifications will be sent using the FOI and FXD Execution Report and the FEI Cancel/Reduce Size Order Notification Message as follows:
    1. Day Orders: Cancels will be sent at the end of each Trading Day
    2. GTC Orders: Cancels will be sent on the Expiration Day of the Instrument
      1. Note: For Complex Instruments, the Expiration Day will be the earliest Expiration Day of the Components of the Strategy
    3. GTD Orders: Cancels will be sent on the Expire Date provided on the order
      1. Note: If the Expire Date provided on the order is a holiday or a weekend, the order cancel message will be sent on the Trading Day prior to the holiday or weekend
    4. Other details:
      1. The FEI Cancel/Reduce Size Reason code for these cancels will be “C” for Time in Force cancelled
      2. The FOI and FXD Execution Report Reason code for these cancels will be “0: TimeInForce Cancel”
      3. All order cancellations occurring will be disseminated on the Depth of Market (“DOM”) Feed using the Delete Order Message
  2. Test Environment Details:
    1. The End-of-Day Cancel Notifications will be available in the Firm Test Bed Environment (FTB) for testing beginning on Tuesday, July 22, 2025
